How do I make a reservation with Marriott Vacation Club International if I am a new Owner and I live in
North America, Central America, South America, or the Caribbean?
Please contact Owner Services to determine your reservation options.
How do I make a reservation with Marriott Vacation Club International if I am a new Owner and I live in
the Asia Pacific region (excluding India and Pakistan)?
What is the difference between “fixed” or “floating” week(s)?
Most of our Owners choose to own “floating” time, which enables them to vacation within a “season” that
consists of a block of weeks within the year. This gives Owners the flexibility to choose different vacation week(s) within the
season they purchased.
Each resort is unique, and some offer the certainty of “fixed” weeks. Fixed week ownership entitles an Owner to the
same vacation week each year at their property.
Through our flexible exchange programs, however, Owners of both floating and fixed weeks have the opportunity to enjoy vacations
in different seasons and at different resorts.
Select at least three choices of weeks within your season.
Determine when you are eligible to make a reservation.
If you are a single-week Owner, you may make reservations beginning 12 months prior to the first check-in day of your
desired week. For example, you may make your reservation request as early as January 4, 2007 to request an arrival date
of January 4, 5 or 6, 2008.
If you are a multiple-week Owner, who wants to reserve concurrent or consecutive weeks to occupy, you may make
reservations beginning 13 months prior to the first check-in day of your desired week. For example, you may make your
reservation request as early as December 4, 2006 to request an arrival date of January 4, 5 or 6, 2008.
If you are a new Owner, you may make reservations within your first Use Year (as stated in the purchase contract) as
soon as the contract has been processed by Marriott Vacation Club® International (10-12 working days). The check-in
date selected must be after the contract has closed.
Make sure you have paid all outstanding charges, including maintenance fees, mortgage payments, taxes, special assessments,
interest, and late charges. Reservation requests can only be accepted from Owners whose accounts are current.
Within 24 hours of making your reservation, you will receive an acknowledgement of your reservation via e-mail. Approximately
30 days prior to your check-in date, you will receive a confirmation containing current information about your stay,
directions to the resort, and activities. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact
Owner Services.

Are there other usage options in addition to occupying my full villa?
In addition to occupying your full villa for an entire week, there are many other options that may be available to you when you
want to vacation at your home resort. These options vary by resort. Partial week versus whole, Lock-Off versus full villa -
understanding your full range of options gives you more to choose from:
Lock-Off
Florida Club
Split-Week
Daily Usage

Please keep in mind that a maximum of 50% of the inventory may be reserved by multiple-week Owners 13 months prior to the
first check-in day of their requested week. The remaining inventory becomes available 12 months prior to the requested
check-in date.
All reservations will be made and confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis, based on space availability. Please keep
in mind that space is very limited as we get close to check-in dates, so reservation requests placed near your desired
check-in date may go unfulfilled. So plan as early as you can.
For more information about the reservation booking window, please click here.
If your purchase is Lock-Off eligible, this option enables you to divide your villa into two separate accommodations, a master
suite and a deluxe guestroom (commonly referred to as the “Lock-Off”), to allow for two vacation periods. You can
then use each portion at a different time.
The master suite consists of a living room/kitchen area, one or two bedrooms (depending on your floor plan). The remainder of
your villa will be locked-off and unavailable to you during your vacation.
The deluxe guestroom consists of the secondary bedroom and bathroom of the villa, plus a microwave, coffee maker and small
refrigerator. The master suite portion of your villa will be locked-off and unavailable to you during your vacation.
For this option, there is a fee that must be paid at the time of reserving
the first portion of your villa reservation. No additional Lock-Off fee is charged when the second portion of your villa is reserved.
For more information about the Lock-Off option, please click here.
Please follow the steps below to reserve your Lock-Off option:
Decide if you want to reserve your master suite or your deluxe guest room first and the week(s) within your season you
would like to reserve. Please note that reservations will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis and are based
on availability.

What are some tips when reserving my lock-off option?
Please follow the steps below to reserve your Lock-Off option:
Please keep in mind that a maximum of 50% of the inventory may be reserved by multiple-week Owners 13 months prior to the
first check-in day of their requested week. The remaining inventory becomes available 12 months prior to the requested
check-in date.

If your home resort is part of the Florida Club, you can reserve your vacation week at either your home resort or another
participating Florida Club resort. Your reservation will not be considered an exchange. Make your reservation as you would
normally with your home resort during the season you purchased.
Reservations can be made within six months of travel
You may combine your Florida Club reservation with Lock-off, Split Week and Exchange if applicable.
Participating resorts include:
Marriott’s BeachPlace Towers in Fort Lauderdale
Marriott’s Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach Shores
Marriott’s Legends Edge at Bay Point in Panama City
Marriott’s Villas at Doral in Miami
Marriott’s Grande Vista in Orlando (except those Owners that purchased prior to the creation of the Florida Club in 1997)
For more information about the Florida Club, please click here.
Please follow the steps below to reserve your Split-Week option:
Decide if you want to reserve your three-night or four-night stay, and choose the dates you would like to reserve within
your season. You may make your Split-Week reservation request 12 months in advance of the first check-in day of your
desired stay.
For this option, there is a fee, which must be paid at the time of reservation.
Make sure you have paid all outstanding charges, including maintenance fees, mortgage payments, taxes, special assessments,
interest, and late charges. Reservation requests can only be accepted from Owners whose accounts are current.
Please note, while we do our best to match your requests, there is no guarantee the second half of your request will be matched
and confirmed. Unfortunately, if no match is found, you may lose a portion of your week.
What are some tips when reserving my Split-Week option?
Please note, while we do our best to match your requests, there is no guarantee that the second half of your request will
be matched and confirmed. Unfortunately, if no match is found, you may lose a portion of your week.
Please keep in mind that a maximum of 50% of the inventory may be reserved by multiple-week Owners 13 months prior to the
first check-in day of their requested week. The remaining inventory becomes available 12 months prior to the requested
check-in date.

For Marriott’s Custom House, you may reserve up to seven one-night stays within the same year during the season you
purchased. If requesting to reserve a Friday or Saturday stay, these days must be used in combination and are limited to one
weekend stay per usage year.
You may:
Use all days together consecutively
Use a single day (seven separate daily reservations)
Use any combination of the days (e.g., Monday and Tuesday together, remaining individually)
Use all on same day (multiple villas on the same day)
For Owners of Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas and Marriott’s Fairway Villas (Gold season only), you are able to split
your week into one “mini vacation” in a full villa at your home resort by utilizing the entire villa for a 3-night,
weekend stay. You are then able to use the remaining weekday nights individually; consecutively for up to four 1-night stays or
concurrently for up to four villas on a single night.
When those hectic times come along, you can always count on your Marriott program to work for you. You can trade your week(s) for
Marriott Rewards® points or deposit your week(s) into the Interval International® system in anticipation of your
well-earned time off (Week(s) deposited are subject to Interval International regulations). As an additional alternative, you may
request a rental offer through our Marriott Rental Program.
Click here for more information about your usage options.
How do I determine if I am eligible to trade my week for Marriott Rewards® points?
Determine if you are eligible to trade your week(s) for points by answering “yes” to every item listed below.
Last year (or two years ago, as an every-other-year Owner), I did not trade this week for Marriott Rewards points. (Please
disregard this item if you are eligible to trade for Marriott Rewards points every year.)
My name is listed on the Deed for my timeshare interest or Share Certificate.
I purchased my timeshare interest from or through Marriott Vacation Club® International or Marriott Vacation Club
International of Aruba.
I am current on all financial accounts with Marriott Vacation Club, Marriott Vacation Club International of Aruba, and
Marriott Vacation Club of Aruba Cooperative Association (i.e. mortgage payments, maintenance fees, taxes, special assessments,
interest, and late charges).
When can I declare my option to trade my week for Marriott Rewards® points?
Please be sure to place your request by December 31 the year prior to the ownership week you’re trading. For example,
let us know by December 31, 2007 if you want to trade your 2008 vacation week for points. Owners who purchased within the
current Use Year should contact Owner Services for more information about how this rule
applies to them.
When will the Marriott Rewards® points be available for use after trading my week for points?
The points will become available for use in January of the year of use you traded for points. For example, to trade your 2008
week for points, you must call by December 31, 2007 to request points. Your points will be in your account in January 2008.
For more information about the Trade for Points usage option, please click here.
Compared with other travel incentive programs, Marriott Rewards offers one of the fastest, easiest ways to earn valuable points.
Maximize every point earning opportunity by staying with Marriott, by using a Marriott Rewards Visa® Card, and by taking
advantage of bonus point opportunities. Additionally, Marriott has teamed with well-known service partners to extend your ability
to earn rewards points. You can earn points when you shop at SkyMall®, rent cars through Hertz®, and more. It’s
the most flexible travel incentive program ever offered by Marriott!
As a Marriott Vacation Club Owner, you have even more opportunities to earn points. Eligible Owners have the option to trade
their usage for a pre-defined number of points. Click here for more
information about trading your usage for points.
Owners also have the option of earning points by referring friends and family through the FriendShare® referral program.
Please click here to fully browse the many options for earning points.
Is there a limitation for which Marriott Rewards® account will be credited with the points
I receive for trading my week?
Yes. Please decide which Marriott Rewards account you want credited and have the account name and number ready. Points can be
applied to only one Marriott Rewards account of a deeded party member, even if multiple names are listed on the Deed.
I have transferred my property to a third party without using Marriott Vacation Club’s resale
department. Will the new Owners retain the Marriott Rewards® eligibility?
The Marriott Rewards eligibility is only offered to Owners that purchase through Marriott. The rules are specified in the
Marriott Rules and Regulations for Marriott Rewards that accompanied your original contract.
I have transferred my property to my children without using Marriott Vacation Club
International’s resale department. Will they retain the Marriott Rewards® eligibility?
As long as you were eligible to trade your week for Marriott Rewards points, your children will retain this right.
Can I use my Marriott Rewards® points to stay at another Marriott Vacation Club resort?
Please note that Marriott Rewards points acquired through exchange of an interest or share at a Marriott Vacation Club resort
may not be used to request a Reward Certificate for accommodations at a Marriott Vacation Club resort.
Click here for more information about
Marriott Rewards® Terms and Conditions.
Can I rent my week through Marriott Vacation Club?
Yes. The Marriott Rental program enables Owners of U.S. and Caribbean resorts to rent their home resort week through Marriott
Resorts Hospitality Corporation.
You may contact us and request to be part of the Marriott Rental Program. If there is availability for you to participate,
we’ll make you an immediate offer and send you a rental agreement. Simply complete it and send it back to us, and we’ll
issue you a check. Your payment will arrive in as few as two business weeks. It’s really that easy.
For more information about the Marriott Rental Program, please click here.
How do you determine the amount to pay me for my week?
The amount is determined based on historical rental rates for the time of year, resort location, rental demand, villa size and
view type you own, less normal and customary expenses.
I listed for rent in the past and received more than your offer. Why did you change the rental program?
We take our Owners’ opinions seriously, and many of you told us you didn’t like the uncertainty of giving up your
vacation week with no guarantee of finding a renter. That̵s why we decided to change our rental program to provide you
with a reliable renter, subject to availability.
If I don’t accept your offer (or the offer is not available), what are my options for renting my week?
This is the only rental program Marriott Vacation Club offers. However, you can rent your week on your own–just remember to contact
Owner Services at 800-845-4226 with the name of your rental guest so there are no problems at check-in. In addition you may occupy
or deposit your week for an exchange with Interval International®, based on availability, or trade for Marriott Rewards®
points, if eligible.
If the Owner is a U.S. person (including a Permanent Resident), pursuant to Internal Revenue Service Ruling 54-571, C.B. 1954-2
(235), any proceeds from the rental transaction will be reported on a Federal 1099 Miscellaneous Income Form and will be subject
to taxation in accordance with current Federal Tax Law. If an Owner is not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for tax purposes,
please note that Marriott Vacation Club is required to hold 30% of the rental offer for tax purposes.
What are some hints for increasing my confirmation opportunities when making an exchange with Interval International®?
If, at the time of your call or Web search, Interval International does not have what you are looking for, please
allow the system to work in your favor by placing a vacation exchange request with multiple choices for resorts and dates.
Your objective when placing a vacation exchange request is to receive an automatic match rather than having Interval
International call you with offers that you may like, but didn’t include in your vacation exchange request. Optimize
your chances by putting as many options in your vacation exchange request as you are comfortable accepting.
Request a week with seasonal demand no greater than that of your deposited week.
Request a week well in advance (at least one year).
Accept smaller accommodations than the villa you deposited. For example, if you deposited a villa that sleeps six people
and your traveling party consists of four people, consider accepting an exchange unit that sleeps four people.
For additional tips on exchanging your week(s), please click here.
Why is there a Marriott Vacation Club week available for rent, but not available
to me via an Interval International® exchange?
This week was not deposited into Interval International’s system by a Marriott
Vacation Club Owner. Rather, the week has been listed for rent to generate dollar revenue because either:
A Marriott Vacation Club Owner desires income from the week or
Marriott Vacation Club has listed it for rent in order to pay for the Marriott Rewards® points taken by an
Owner in trade for the week.
For more information about the Exchange usage option, please click here.
What are the fees associated with exchanging my week through Interval International®?
With available exchange methods, if you select Marriott resorts exclusively, you are requesting an Internal Exchange,
for which the current fee is $99* per week exchanged, regardless of the destination.
If you choose non-Marriott resorts, you are requesting an External Exchange. The current External Exchange fees are $139*
per week exchanged for travel within your country of residence and $154* per week exchanged for travel outside your country
of residence.
Please note that if your request contains travel destinations both within and outside your country of residence, the
$154* fee will be assessed regardless of where the request is ultimately confirmed.
If Interval International cannot confirm your exchange request, the exchange fee will be refunded.
Weeks relinquished by Marriott Owners will be offered to other Marriott Owners requesting a comparable Internal Exchange
within the Marriott family of resorts before becoming available to other Interval International® members.
All exchanges take place using a system of comparable exchanges, which are based on the following factors:
Supply of similar vacation weeks within the exchange program
Demand of those relinquished weeks within the exchange program
Quality and location of a resort
Time of year
Private sleeping capacity of the unit
Date the home resort week is relinquished
Date the request is placed
When Marriott Owners are competing for the same week(s) and these factors are comparable, the Marriott Owner requesting
an exchange to his/her home resort will receive priority over the other Marriott Owners who do not want a vacation interest
at such a Marriott resort.
You can exchange your week through Interval International®,
which offers a network of more than 2,200 resorts located in destinations around the world. To exchange your week, please follow
these easy steps:
Contact Interval International to place your vacation
requests. When placing your vacation requests, please remember the
tips for increasing your confirmation opportunities.
Thank you for understanding that reservation requests only can be accepted from Owners whose accounts are current. If you have
any outstanding charges, please pay them prior to making your reservation.
For more information about Interval International, please

What are the Interval International® exchange options?
Owners can select from the following Interval International exchange methods:
Deposit First: This is the right exchange method when you’re sure you want to
vacation somewhere other than your home resort. You immediately give up the week you reserved at your home resort to Interval
International who then makes it available to other Owners. You can begin a Deposit First exchange between 12 months and 60
days before you home resort reservation check-in date. You’ll have up to 24 months
after your original home resort reservation check-in date to complete your exchange
and travel.
Request First: This is the right exchange method when you want the security of keeping
your home resort week until you confirm an acceptable exchange. You can begin a Request First exchange between 12 months and 60
days before your home resort reservation check-in date. You’ll have up to 12
months prior to your home resort reservation check-in date to confirm an exchange and
complete your travel.
Flex/Late Deposit and Flexchange: A Flex Deposit (also known as Late Deposit) is when you
decide at the last minute (59 to 14 days prior to your home resort reservation check-in date) you can’t use your reserved
week and you’d like to use the Flex/Late deposit for an exchange with Interval International for another time. Once your
week is deposited, you will have up to two years to request an exchange week using the Flexchange program. Just remember, your
Flex Deposit restricts you from calling far in advance for an available check-in date. You’ll have up to 59 days to 24
hours prior to your requested check-in date to instantly confirm an exchange and complete your travel. Pending requests are not
an option under Flexchange.
Flexchange also will be used even if you deposit your home-resort week more than 60 days before your reserved check-in date, but
make your exchange request between 59 days and 24 hours before your desired check-in date. With Flexchange, if the reservation you
are requesting is available, you will be instantly confirmed. If your desired reservation is not available, your deposited week
remains classified as a Deposit First week, so you can continue to request alternate reservations.
When requesting an exchange with Interval International, remember the
hints for increasing your confirmation opportunities.
How do I choose the exchange method that is right for me?
If Interval International® is unable to instantly confirm you into your desired destination and:
You do not wish to use your reserved home resort week, select Deposit First
You would like to use your reserved home resort week, choose Request First
If the resorts you are requesting are all Marriott resorts and your desired travel dates are after your reserved home resort
week, select the Special Marriott Internal Exchange method.
Please note at the time of your request, you must select one of the following options, which will become effective if you are
not confirmed into one of your requested resorts 75 days prior to your reserved home resort week:
Option A: Have Interval International return your home resort week, cancel the request, and refund your fee.
Option B: Instruct Interval International to deposit your home resort week as a Deposit First and continue to search for a match.
